In addition to managing a growing portfolio, April Housing will ensure assets in the existing portfolio remain affordable and in compliance with all rent regulations while making significant improvements and aligning the operations with April Housing's Standards of Excellence in Residential Operations.

As of the date on which this job advertisement is posted, the Company anticipates that the base salary range for this role is $165,000- $255,000, with a 25% bonus target.  Total direct compensation may also include discretionary bonus and/or incentive compensation. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Also ready to help build and lead a team? Then, we are looking for you. The VP of Data will take the lead to ensure the growth, security, and sustainability of our entire data program. There are plenty of systems to grow, but we want the human who asks “Why” we are growing and “How” can we grow better. This will be a data strategy role for a person with the ability to have a deep understanding of the business and how to apply that understanding, leveraging data, automation, reporting, and machine learning, to grow the business. This role will lead the future of data at April Housing, driving the adoption of our modern BI platform and propelling the entire business forward.

What you will do:

  • Do cool data stuff, with some of the sharpest real estate and financial minds on the planet.
  • Design and implement data strategies and systems that masquerade as business solutions. You can’t tell them apart.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage technical teams that include internal teammates and partners. You must love people, as much as data.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, management, quality, happiness, and protection of data.


What you should have:

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing and Analytics, and have been a leader of an enterprise data team previously.
  • Experience in best practices and applications surrounding modeling normalized and denormalized datasets
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, e.g., Computer Science, Math, Physics, etc… School of Hard Knocks works too if you can back it up
  • Experience scaling data environments with distributed/real-time systems and self-serve visualization environments
  • Advanced proficiency with Snowflake, SQL, Python, Postgres.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud based and SaaS data warehouse and developing ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience integrating, building, and budgeting data platforms in support of BI, Analytics, Data Science, and real-time applications
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to initiate and drive projects proactively and accurately with a large, diverse team
