As of the date on which this job advertisement is posted, the Company anticipates that the base salary range for this role is $220,000-$250,000, with a 40-50% bonus target.  Total direct compensation may also include discretionary bonus and/or incentive compensation. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director of Portfolio Transactions, the VP, Head of Transaction Management is responsible for ensuring all transactions are undertaken with a high level of rigor and thoughtfulness. This role oversees the Transactions Management team and thus is accountable for all transactions for the company.  This includes managing the contract negotiation process and coordinating with legal, financial, brokers, consultants and other professionals to ensure all transactions are completed on time and within budget.  This role is also responsible for the oversight, development and implementation of new transaction management processes and procedures.  As the Head of Transactions Management, the position will have oversight over all relevant technologies and must report to senior management on transaction status. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all team members in the management of acquisition, disposition, refinance, and resyndication transactions for the company.
  • Oversee all relevant technology uses to insure timely communication, efficient sharing of documentation, organized storage of transaction documentation
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with buyers, sellers, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with asset management, legal and financial departments to ensure that all transactions are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement new transaction management processes and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to transaction managers and coordinators.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations.
  • Perform other duties on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree; an MBA or other graduate degree is helpful, but not required. This person will bring at least ten years of experience in real estate closing coordination, finance, investment, and underwriting with a deep understanding of affordable housing and the tax credit industry.

Specifically, candidates for this position should have the following career experience:

 

Professional Experience

  • Will bring significant depth of experience in affordable housing finance (debt or equity), expertise with in LIHTC transactions, including the technical, legal, and accounting regulations that govern its successful use.
  • Ability to provide leadership development including coaching and developing others by seeking to understand their strengths and development areas.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient using Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Box and be able to learn new software quickly
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be a team player, be able to work well with others and have a willingness to aid where needed to get the job done
  • Able to anticipate needs for specifics projects and processes
  • Must be exceptionally well organized, be able to prioritize tasks well and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to handle a fast pace environment and be able to manage tasks and deadlines independently
  • Able to work effectively under pressure; be a quick learner with minimal direct supervision
  • Be passionate about quality and accuracy
